Shielding Design Development

Most State regulatory agencies require that shielding designs be submitted for approval on all x-ray installations. Phoenix Technology Corporation™ will provide shielding design plans in association with the architectural layout/construction phase of your building or renovation project. Although a shielding design is required for rooms with ionizing radiation equipment, lead shielding is not always required to be installed in these rooms. Some exceptions can be mammography rooms, dental areas, bone densitometry rooms, and some C-arm pain management procedure rooms. Estimated workload, size of the room, and radiation output are some of the determining factors as to whether lead shielding is required. The State of Georgia, in order to ensure the health and safety of the public, requires the submission of shielding designs for any x-ray equipment installations for their review and approval. We submit all necessary paperwork to the State for review and assist with any follow up information required; from the State, architect, or subcontractor/installer.
